Dr Ann Reid is a Consultant in Public Health at Ashton, Leigh and Wigan PCT.
She has extensive experience of working in healthcare, first as a dietician in Northern Ireland and Scotland and more recently in key public health roles in the North West of England.
She has also worked in West Africa – contributing to the development of health services and, using an organisational development approach, establishing a learning and development programme for staff at a large district general hospital.
In her current role, Dr Reid is involved in developing and implementing health policies and strategies and commissioning public health programmes – most recently around tackling obesity in Wigan.
Dr Reid is experienced at working across agencies; indeed, much of her current role involves close joint working with Wigan Council and developing business relationships in the area.
As well as her numerous academic qualifications, she has also completed a public health training programme; the Manchester Common Purpose cross sector leadership and development programme; and is currently undertaking a coaching course.
Dr Reid is accredited as a Public Health Specialist on the UK Public Health Register and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health.
